Welcome to our gallery where we showcase the beauty and uniqueness of Kathakali, a dance drama art form that uses sign language to communicate with characters and background music in Sanskrit accompanied by percussions Maddhalam (a horizontal Drum made out of the wood of a jackfruit tree), chenda (a cylindrical percussion instrument like Drum), Chengilam (Gong) & Elathalam (Cymbals). At NatyaVedhi, we take pride in our signature makeup which adds an extra layer of authenticity to our performances. Our troupe members are well-trained in the art of intricate makeup and dressing that are typical of Indian dance forms. We believe that performance is not just about the dance but also about the attire and makeup.
